Pete Michaels hops with
Joe Terry of the original Danny and the Juniors
One of the top ten best selling records of all time is Danny and the Juniors i> At the Hop. What a neat experience to meet the man behind the music. Joe Terry, one of the four original Juniors is still touring today with another original member, Frank Maffei. Together now more than 40 years, the two have a third member traveling with them since the death of Danny Rapp in 1983. Full of energy and excitement, each time I've had the chance to see Joe and the group perform they do At the Hop just like they did it the first time, back in 1958. And did you know the song was originally called "Do the Bop?" Well it was, but Dick Clark suggested a change. Listen in as Joe Terry recalls that moment.
